If you are new to Dip Powder or aren’t sure what it even is, you have come to the right place! This in-depth tutorial will teach you everything you need to know on how to apply Super Star Dip Powder!
Step 1
- Push back cuticles, create a rough texture on the nail plate by filing, and sanitize thoroughly.
- Apply a coat of Step 1 Stick-Em (Bond) to all fingernails.
PRO TIP: Make sure you thoroughly prep nails to ensure adhesion & long-lasting wear!
Step 2
- Apply a thin coat of Base for dip to the entire nail surface, stroking out towards the tip of the nail
PRO TIP: Avoid getting the product onto cuticles, powder will pick up wherever Base if applied
Step 3
- Quickly dip the nail at a 45-degree angle into the choice of acrylic color powder coating the entire nail bed
- Tap finger to rid of loose powder in between nails
PRO TIP: Be sure to always paint and immediately dip one nail at a time before moving on to the next finger. This will prevent Step 2 Base from drying out and allow for more powder to adhere to the nail.
Step 4
- Repeat for more coverage
PRO TIP: Avoid getting the product onto cuticles, powder will pick up wherever Base if applied
Step 5
- Apply another thin coat of Base to the entire nail surface
- Quickly dip the entire nail surface into Clear Powder, sealing all layers of powder

Step 6
- Apply a coat of Step 3 Activator to harden the blend of powder & liquid
- Allow two minutes for Activator to dry completely
Step 7
- When the blend of powder and liquid has hardened, file nails to the desired shape
- Use a our coarse grit buffer to even out the preferred thickness of the nails, then use the 240 grit buffer to smooth the nail surface
Step 8
- Use the brush to take out the left powder on hands and nails.
Step 9
- Apply a coat of Step 3 Activator to harden the blend of powder & liquid
- Allow two minutes for Activator to dry completely
Step 10
- Apply a coat of Top for Dip in quick thin strokes
- Allow 3 minutes for nails to dry
PRO TIP: Brushes may harden or pick up color powder during application. Simply switch them between Brush Softener for easy cleaning & workability.
Step 11
- Finish by Applying a coat of Top for Dip in quick thin strokes
- Allow 3 minutes for nails to dry.
